CHR recently participated in a training organized by LifeSet Youth Villages to help young adults who have benefitted from a DCF-funded program, Transitional Support for Emerging Adults (TSEA), learn how to share their voice in advocacy efforts.

TSEA is a successful, evidence-based model that has helped more than 240 young adults since 2019, through programs run by CHR and Wheeler Clinic. Specifically, TSEA helps young adults who have aged out of foster care and are ready to work on the next chapter in their lives, including help with education, job training, housing, childcare, and more. This year’s training focused on helping young adults build skills to advocate on behalf of funding for vital programs like TSEA, emphasizing each person’s unique story and lived experience.

CHR staff and clients who attended include Jarvis Graham, TSEA specialist; Taylor Shopel, TSEA specialist; Omoi Tibby, TSEA Specialist; Nicole Lemoine, TSEA Clinical Supervisor; and Jennifer Pasion-Blocker, Clinical Program Director.
