NOVEMBER 29, 2012

The State of Connecticut announced on November 28, 2012 that CHR has been selected to participate in the Trauma and Gender Practice Improvement Collaborative with the Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the Connecticut Women’s Consortium (CWC).

The Trauma and Gender Practice Improvement Collaborative is a recovery-oriented system of behavioral health care that is trauma-informed and gender-responsive for adults in Connecticut. Each year DMHAS-operated and funded agencies are selected through an application process to participate in a practice improvement collaborative, including free training and consultation from national experts in the field of trauma and gender-responsive services. This initiative originally started as focusing on trauma-informed care only and in the past three years it has included a focus on gender-responsive care as well.

CHR was picked to join the program from a pool of competitive applicants according to Julienne Giard, the Manager of Evidence-Based & Best Practices for DMHAS.

The two day kick-off event for the program will take place on January 17 and 18, 2013.
